Tmc annual 2022 exhibition recap

2024-04-01

In case you didn’t hear, TMC’s 2022 Annual Exhibition was another resounding success. SKF Vehicle Aftermarket Heavy Duty was in attendance promoting our latest innovations in wheel-end maintenance, and of course, connecting with new and old friends alike. Our flagship products and services highlighted at this year's event were the new TraX Wheel End Monitor (WEM) and the Trouble-Free Operation (TFO) training program. During the show, attendees that stopped by the SKF booth were able to explore our solutions, enjoy complimentary top-shelf cocktails, doughnuts, and coffee, and enter for the chance to win a Blackstone® 4-Burner 36” Griddle Cooking Station.

Our approach to this year's event, which took place at the Orange County Convention Center between March 7 to 10, was merging innovation and efficiency. With labor shortages and delivery services at an all-time high, fleet operators face unprecedented challenges in the transportation industry. Our wheel-end solutions are designed to help customers achieve more productive wheel-end maintenance and operational uptime.

Attendees were given materials and an overview on how to schedule a personalized SKF TFO training session. The SKF TFO training program features a proven systems approach to proper wheel end maintenance, including component inspection, care, removal, and installation. Targeted to technicians, the TFO training program is designed to mitigate downtime by nurturing proper education, easy-to-follow tutorials, and direct technical support. TFO not only helps enhance fleet performance and extend the service life of wheel-end components, but it also keeps drivers safe while on the road.

Our booth was also home to an interactive demo of the recently launched TraX Wheel End Monitor (WEM), a sensor unit installed at the outboard side of heavy-duty vehicle wheel rims to notify the driver in near real-time of needed fleet maintenance via wireless communication in advance of component issues. Capable of intelligently monitoring wheel-end vibrations and temperature fluctuations, TraX WEM can detect issues like impending bearing failures before they happen, saving time, money and the frustration of unscheduled breakdowns and component replacement.

Trade Show Treats

As TMC 2022 got underway, SKF welcomed attendees with a premier cocktail reception to usher in the event. Tito's vodka and other top-shelf cocktails were served to celebrate the commencement of an in-person trade show, something that was sorely missed in the age of COVID-19. Complimentary doughnuts, coffee, cappuccino, lattes and espresso were also served throughout the course of the three-day event, making the SKF booth a popular destination for weary travelers. We also hosted a special giveaway for a Blackstone® 4-Burner 36” Griddle Cooking Station! Four lucky winners will be selected in the coming days to redeem their prize.

At a quick glance, the average passersby of the SKF Vehicle Aftermarket booth may have gotten the impression the event was a reunion of sorts. Old and new friends sharing a drink, chatting about life and the latest heavy duty vehicle aftermarket innovations. We’re proud of our latest portfolio lineup, but we’re most proud of the connections we’ve made over the years. Thanks so much to everyone who made it out and we hope to see you again next year!
